Saving Your Stash

During a global pandemic, we all have to do what we can to conserve resources. For a lot of cannabis consumers, these long days and nights stuck at home become marathon binge-watching sessions of epic proportions. If you’re quarantining, it can be difficult to avoid smoking the days and nights away.

How can you stay lit while living lean? Aside from using Canlock to preserve your stash, here are some tips:

Set a Schedule

As many of us adjust to working from home (or not working at all), building a schedule and sticking to it is key. Cannabis consumption is no different – smoking the day away aimlessly is a waste of resources and will only increase your tolerance, leading you to want to consume even more. Try adding smoke breaks throughout the day. This will help you ration your goods and maintain your regimen. It may also help motivate you to get your work done if you pack a dank-looking bowl before you start your tasks as you envision how fantastic it will be once you finish!

Utilize “One-ies” or Other Smaller Paraphernalia

This is a bit of a psychological trick, much like when people use smaller plates when they’re trying to eat less. Sometimes one or two solid rips can be just as effective as several tokes off a large bowl. Grind up your cannabis and make sure your smoking vessel is free from resin and buildup. Pack the small pipe liberally, taking it all in. Wait a few minutes before re-packing as you may find yourself at the right place sooner than you expect.

Try Edibles

Edibles offer arguably the most bang for your buck as many people tend to get higher for a longer amount of time. The cannabinoids are processed through the liver and intestines as opposed to the lungs, staying in the body for a longer period of time. Additionally, the effects of cannabis peak a lot quicker when smoked versus ingested orally. If you are trying to conserve your stash, you may want to consider converting some of it to edible form – there are tons of great recipes like the ones featured here.

Enhance Your Hit

One surefire way to gain an edge is to enhance your bowl or joint with some kief, hash, or other cannabis concentrate. A little goes a long way, so use sparingly. These crystals play home to the plant’s cannabinoids – aka the active ingredients responsible for its effects. Dip into that pollen tray at the bottom of your grinder and scoop up a dollop of trichomes to add to your freshly packed pipe for an extra layer of THC – and a more powerful high.

Take a T Break

When all else fails, taking a tolerance break (also known as a t-break) will allow the body to reset – and will help you to have more intense effects from less product. While it can sometimes be a drag to be without product, remember it will pay off in the end. While cannabis can take up to a month to fully exit the body, a consumption break of even a few days can often offer noticeably more profound effects the next time you have a sesh.

Stay Safe – and Stay Fresh

Spending the majority of time at home has led to a lot of folks stocking up on essentials. Make sure to preserve your cannabis flower properly or it may not last the pandemic. We recommend Canlock to ensure your bud doesn’t overdry or lose potency. This crisis will be over before we know it, but until then, stay safe – and stay fresh.
